NO! Trying to learn about singing by listening to YouTube videos DOES NOT WORK — NEVER HAS, NEVER WILL!
And why is this?! Well, it’s simple: Your singing teacher MUST hear your singing or the instruction won’t work.
For singing, there is no “one size fits all.” Your voice is as unique as your fingerprint! Your voice deserves — and very much NEEDS — individual attention and care, tailored to your specific needs from one lesson to the next.
Unless the teacher can HEAR your singing, your time and energy are being wasted. What is worse is the major risk that you could be causing DAMAGE TO YOUR VOICE, when you are not working individually and privately with a good singing teacher.
Learning to sing goes like this: You sing for the teacher. The teacher listens very carefully to your singing. Then the teacher uses his/her expertise and experience to discover exactly what YOUR voice needs to begin singing better now — immediately!
Singing “lessons” on YouTube, in which the teacher never hears your singing are an absolute FRAUD! There is SO MUCH BAD ADVICE on the internet, about how to sing well.
