Why do some singers get hired and not others, who seem just as qualified?  What is the competitive edge and how can you have that same advantage, in building the performing career you really want? 

Fresh out of the Conservatory with nothing but a Bachelor’s Degree (Vocal Performance Major), I was determined to get out there and try my luck as a singer.  I blazed my own trail, seeking work primarily as a concert singer.   

I gave careful thought to each maneuver and sought out the finest teachers and coaches.  Expensive but worth it.  Offers to perform as soloist with good orchestras and choral ensembles started sooner than I anticipated and then took off exponentially within a couple of years.  At the age of 25 (way too young), I was signed by a major NYC manager.  They had a ton of work for me, and I was out there touring on the solo circuit for over 10 years.  It was going well, except that I was feeling burned out.  There was no long-term strategy to nurture a very young talent, so I would continue singing for the next 30+ years.  Instead, I had become a cog in an automated machine, designed to ensure profits for my manager – one of the most reputable in the world. 

Eventually I turned my attention to helping manage singers, hopefully better than I had experienced.  With 40+ years working in this industry, my cumulative know-how is deep and wide and highly relevant to your goals.  I understand your needs and your passion for becoming a successful professional singer and I also realize that you are more than just a singer: you are a human being who sings.
